Package 3: Postpartum care

calla bean.jpeg

As a postpartum doula, my goal is to assist you with your needs surrounding newborn care and maternal recovery. It can be helpful to know that these may look slightly different for each person. Working together, we will create a specialized plan for you and your family. Listed below are some components of postpartum care that may be of interest.

In-home postpartum care occurs after the birth of the baby. My services typically range from 1-4 weeks, where I will come into the home and assist your family. Families may schedule up to 4 days a week depending on availability.

*Please note that during the COVID-19 pandemic I am only working with two families on rotation at a time.

Newborn Care

Diapering, swaddling, newborn poop, napping habits, jaundice tips, etc.

Maternal Recovery

Healing techniques addressing tearing from labor, reduction of pelvic pain, troubleshooting challenges related to breastfeeding, discussing bodily changes during the postpartum period, increasing quality of sleep, and sourcing nourishing recipes.

Providing you with the skillsets you seek to flourish and feel confident as a mother as well as a tangible database of supportive resources within the Rochester community.

Feeding Assistance

Breastfeeding, chest feeding, bottle feeding, pumping, finding lactation centers, assisting with newborn latch techniques, preventing clogged ducts and/or mastitis, increasing (or decreasing) milk supply.

Specialized per individual/family. Examples may include: baby wearing, creating developmentally appropriate activities for your infant, navigating breastfeeding and the workplace, etc.
